Our Story

Maplebrook Public Library has been the heart of our community for over 70 years. What began as a small reading room with 500 books has grown into a vibrant hub offering over 50,000 materials and countless programs for all ages.

We believe that libraries are more than just repositories of books—they are spaces where communities come together, where knowledge is freely shared, and where everyone has equal access to information and opportunity.

Our Mission

To inspire lifelong learning, foster community connections, and provide equitable access to information, technology, and cultural experiences for all residents of Ottawa.

Our Values

  • Accessibility: We ensure all community members can access our resources and services regardless of background or ability.
  • Innovation: We embrace new technologies and approaches to meet evolving community needs.
  • Inclusion: We celebrate diversity and create welcoming spaces for everyone.
  • Collaboration: We partner with local organizations to strengthen our community.
  • Excellence: We strive for the highest quality in all our programs and services.
